| Then, like most teenagers, cars and girls came into the picture. At 25 years old Tony married and started acquiring | |
| birds from local fanciers, sometimes spending large money on the so-called "High Eye-Sign Birds". After only average | |
| results did Tony's very good friend, Bob Bawden, suggest that Tony go visit Mike Ganus of Ganus Family Loft in Indiana. | |

| Tony had finally arrived at the greatest breeding loft in North America | |
| housing the greatest champions of the world. He instantly knew that he | |
| must purchase some youngsters from this pigeon colony no matter what | |
| it took. Later that year the first 10 youngsters arrived in Canada. Instant | |
| results were seen with the youngsters off the GFL birds beating all of the | |
| other birds in his loft. Tony automatically knew that he must dispose of | |
| all of his other birds regardless of the cost and concentrate on GFL birds. | |
| Every year Tony continued to purchase more youngbirds from Ganus | |
| Family Loft. | |
| After traveling with Mike to Holland, Belgium and Germany on four different Tony Alves and Mike Ganus | |
| occasions, Tony and Mike decided to form a partnership racing and breeding | |
| team in Canada. Tony decided to move and purchased 2 1/2 acres of property 30 miles north of Toronto and the | |
| construction of a new racing loft began. Armed with birds off the best Ganus Family Loft pigeons and some direct | |
