The "GOLDEN MATTENS" Progeny

Quote by Ad Schaerlaeckens:
"A book can be written about the descendants of the 'GOLDEN MATTENS'"
In 2005, we flew grandchildren of the "GOLDEN MATTENS" bred by Ganus Family Lofts, along with grandchildren of the "JONGE MATTENS" (GFL 555-03) his direct son. Here are some of the results for 2005:
In the Oshawa Gold Bond Race, into a strong head wind we took the first 5 positions; 15 minutes out in front.
Three of these birds were grandchildren of the "GOLDEN MATTENS"!
In the Stouffville Cannington Blue Ribbon Open race, (into a strong head wind) again we had 10 birds in the first 13 positions, and six of these, were grandchildren of the "GOLDEN MATTENS".
Add to that, three were grandchildren of his son, the "JONGE MATTENS".
At both 500 kilometre Up North Pigeon Racing Combine Races; again flown into hot head winds; we were 2nd & 3rd respectively in both of these races with a granddaughter of the "JONGE MATTENS".
Another super sister to this hen was the leading bird at the 2005 Letours De Maritimes Race, by over 2 hours into the 7th race. Unfortunately, she was lost at the last race, which was a smash with only 1 returning bird on the day.
Another grandson of the "GOLDEN MATTENS", produced an equal 1st Combine. These pigeons have excelled in all types of racing, but when it came to the longer head wind races, they really came through to show their breeding.
The amount of 1st prizes, and early prizes won at Combine and Open Race level with the "GOLDEN MATTENS" blood in one Young Bird Season can only be described as "mind boggling".
Never has there been a more prepotent sire as the "GOLDEN MATTENS". History has proven this over and over again, and now we can honestly say that these are definitely the best birds that we have ever flown here at the Alves/Ganus Racing Lofts.
